Baked Brie Cheese



The other day, I read somewhere that January is the best month of the year for entertaining friends at home ...
That's because the madness of Christmas and New Year is over, many people take vacations, and places where the winter is severe, people need even more company to not be so depressed.

And I think this Brie will steal the spotlights !

It is so easy to do, that it'll make you think :
"Why didn't I think of that before ?"

It is basically the brie wrapped in puff pastry, along with the jam of your choice and baked in the oven until the pastry is golden and the cheese melted.



1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
1 cup apricot jam
1 brie cheese
sliced almonds (optional)


Open the pastry on a flat surface.
Spread the jam over the dough, in the center.
Put cheese over the jam.
Fold the dough over the brie.
Turn the "package" on a board.
Stick the almonds on top.

Bake in preheated oven 180ºC / 350ºF for 25 minutes.

Transfer to a plate and serve with crackers and toast.




The cool thing is that you can give this appetizer a more seasonal taste, just changing the jam you choose.

Cranberry on Thanksgiving Day.
Raspberry, Blackberry or Mixed Berry Jam for Christmas and winter in general.
