The truthisthatmakingCandy Popcornis notone of the easiest thingsbecause it hasa few tricks, that if youfollow, there is noerror.
And it's beautifully crisp.Believe me !!!
From all therecipes thatI saw, I testedone,even though i thought it hadtoo muchoil...
So I decided tochangethe quantities andmyversion, whichI call it Popcorn Candy corn1,2,3 becauseof the ingredients,as you can see, is this:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoonfood coloring
In a panputin this order:oil, water,popcorn,cornsugar andfood coloring.
Light thehigh heatand stirnon-stop.
The mixturewill start toboilandyou keepstirring.
Whenthis mixturereaches a syrup texture andcornstarts topop,LOWER THE HEATand close the pot with the lid.
Withthe help ofa Dishtowels, shakethe Pangently,so all thecornsburstand interminglewiththe colorful syrup.
When it stopsburst, openthe panimmediatelyandtoss thepopcorn ona baking sheet.
Only aftercool, separatethe popcornwithyour handsand serve.
Followingall these stepsproperly,the popcornis going to besupercrunchy andnot too sweet...
Your food coloring can be in drops, gel or powder.
If you want to transfer straight to the popcorn Bowl, you can. You'll separate them while eating.
Leftovers? Store in plastic bag and eat the next day.
I used gel coloring.
